University Law School Legal Education

 

 
 

 

 

 

University Law School.Net is initiating an experiment in providing a free legal education. If  University Law
School.Net  is successful in meeting its objective in graduating students with a university law school level education  - there will be a tuition for future programs. 

University Law School.Net is a accepting a limited number students who desire to receive a legal education. The education is free except for the materials such as text books, codes, outlines and additional supplemental study aids that must be purchased by the student. The student will also need to have a telephone head set to enable the student to take notes during the telephonic lectures.

You are advised that University Law School.Net - is not an accredited law school and has not applied for accreditation from any state bar association or from the America Bar Association.

All material including but nor limited to case summaries, outlines, lecture notes, briefs, case annotations, summaries, examinations, cases-produced, created or generated in the educational process and/or all other material down loaded from the internet will be the exclusive property of University Law School.Net.

The student will assist in developing University Law School.Net legal web sites used in the legal educational process.

At this time University Law School.Net  will not offer any degrees or certificates.  It is the students responsibility to determine whether the education offered by University Law School.Net  will fulfill the students goals or objectives. Because this is an inaugural class University Law School.Net  makes no representations or promises whatsoever.

Persons who may benefit.

Executive who want to learn the legal system in order to communicate with the legal department and who wants to understand the nature of legal proceedings.

Foreign lawyers who want to learn the American judicial system and jurisprudence.

Persons who plan to attend law school and wants to get a head start in law school.

Individuals who encounter legal issues in their profession or require legal knowledge in their employment.

Paralegals or paralegal students.

Curriculum

The Curriculum will closely follow the Curriculum of a United States major university law school.

Teaching Method

The teaching method is by the traditional law school case method. Please refer to Case Book Brief Format to learn about the case method.

Text Books and Supplemental materials

The case books will be the traditional case books used by a major university law school. These materials are available at any law school book store. Used text books and other materials may be purchased used.

Commencement of Classes.

Since this is an experimental program and its nascent stages classes commence at the election of the student.

Application for the program.

All that is required is notice to University Law School.Net by email that you want to begin instruction. All the information that is needed is you address, telephone number and email.

Record Keeping.

If that the student wants University Law School.Net to maintain "attendance records" the student will maintain such records and approved and verified by
University Law School.Net as necessary.

Education and School Transcripts

Education and School Transcripts are not required.

Educational Requirements

At this time no prerequisites or education requirements are required. However, because the student will be required to prepare case briefs, summaries and other materials as well as type the lectures typing skills are necessary.

Material Requirements.

Hardware: The student must have a personal computer or access to a computer.

Telephone Head Set: In order to facilitate note taking the student must have a telephone head set for hands free typing.

Software: The student must have Microsoft word.

Email account. The student must have an Email account.

Telephone: The student must have a Telephone in the United States as lectures will be by phone.

Lectures

Lectures will be by phone. The student will type the lectures. As necessary the student will be asked to supplement the lecture notes with codes, statutes, and related cases. University Law School.Net will edit the lecture notes instruct the student as to organization and as to the necessity of additions and corrections - which will be done by the student. The corrcted lecture notes will be emailed by the student to University Law School.Net  The lecture notes case summaries and other material deemed necessary by University Law School.Net will be posted to the internet for use by the student. Any and all material generated, created, composed, recorded in any manner including the lecture notes will be the exclusive property of University Law School.Net.

Outlines:

In addition to any commercial outlines that the student elects to use the student will be required to outline each course case book used. The case book outlines will be presented to University Law School.Net for corrections and organization. The student will supplement and modify the outlines as directed by University Law School.Net. This will be useful in structuring the course subject matter and a review tool. The outlines will be the exclusive property of University Law School.Net.

Examinations.

Examination will be given periodically

Yearly case load:

University Law School.Net. would like the student to to the full first year course. However the student may elect to take two courses per year.

Termination of the program.

Should the student decide he does not want to continue the program he may terminate the program without consequence.
